Medical Alerts From LifeStation
LifeStation offers three kinds of medical alert: In Home, In Home Plus, and Cellular.
The In Home alert is a traditional base unit with emergency pendant which can be worn as a necklace or around the wrist. It works on a landline. In Home Plus was designed for users who do not have a landline at home, and works on a cellular network. Customers who like to go out and about can opt for Mobile with GPS, which can be used from anywhere there is a cellular network to connect to. Mobile with GPS pinpoints your location when the alert is activated, so emergency services can find you.
LifeStation’s offerings are traditional (this is not a bad thing!) and reliable, with the In Home Plus and Mobile options adding flexibility for users who don’t have access to a landline, or who want to stay safe when out and about.
All options can be upgraded to include automatic fall detection for a small fee of $7 a month.
Features of LifeStation Medical Alerts
LifeStation comes with a range of features that we like, including the fact that the units are quick and easy to set up.
Both home units have a range of 500 feet which should be enough to cover most houses, and out into the yard. All units offer an advanced speaker system which means you can communicate voice to voice even if you have fallen down and are not close to the unit.
We like the fact that LifeStation has you covered even if you cannot speak to an operator. In the event that your button is pressed, or fall detection alarm goes off (if you have fall protection), the monitoring center will follow your personalized emergency action plan. LifeStation can call emergency services or caregivers on your behalf. Someone will stay on the line with you until help arrives.
All packages come with complementary message alerts. Caregivers will receive a text message letting them know that your medical alert has been used.
Users can also purchase a bathroom and hallway emergency button which is mounted on the wall for added security, or an extra wristband for a second person to wear, which is an ideal solution for couples.
Should the power go out, LifeStation’s battery offers up to 32 hours of backup power.
